Save Hythe Ferry & Pier – A campaign close to our hearts!!! (@ 16/11)

Save our Pier & Ferry Campaign – SO45 Online Lottery Support

As local residents it concerns us at SO45 Online to learn that there may not be a Hythe Ferry service one day soon or the Pier may close due to financial concerns.

Hythe Ferry and the Pier and Train are integral to Hythe and the SO45 area’s history and heritage, and in our opinion it’s essential for this to continue well into our future for us and our families and neighbours and visitors to enjoy.

Fantastic Local Support for this cause!

From a standing start a facebook group called The Hythe Pier Train and Ferry Action Group was started and as at today has over 1920  members.

Please click the link below to have a read through may of the great posts, photo’s and articles that local residents have submitted charting the current plight of the Ferry/Pier and its wonderful history.

This group was started by 3 local residents, Peter King, Rob Henley and David Cater and they have started to formulate a focused group of local people to try and understand what can be done to secure the Ferry and Pier’s future for us all to enjoy.

The plight of the Hythe Ferry & Pier has also touched another local resident and regular Ferry passenger Maggie Blight. Maggie has started an online petition to save the historic ferry and pier which stands today at 8663 and growing. Please click below to sign the petition if you haven’t already.

All comments received by the Facebook page and petitioners and well wishers are being noted for future use as plans and a strategy develop. More will become clear at next weeks Public Meeting where everyone that cares or wants to share an opinion is welcome. Details below:
