TICKET UPDATE 200 sold in week 1 (as at 8th December 2014)
The SO45 Online team have been very busy over the last few months, since the successful conclusion of the 2014 SO45 Online Charity Golf Day.
We have now raised £26,500 over the last 2 and 1/2 years for local good causes.
We are delighted to make 3 announcements about the future of this local community project:
First of all, our site has been stripped back and refreshed
Secondly, we have 4 new sponsors, and finally
……We are delighted to announce the launch of the new monthly
……..SO45 Online Community Giving Lottery!
It Could be You!
With tickets available from the 1st December from the outlets mentioned in the promo poster, for just £2 a ticket you could be the lucky winner of a big cash prize.
50% of all ticket sales will go to one cash winner and 50% will go to a local good cause.
For the initial launch draw we will be supporting the fantastic Waterside Cancer Support Centre.
We will advise who the good cause is before each draw ticket sale begins so everyone knows who they are supporting.
The first draw will be on Chritsmas Eve at a venue yet to be decided.
Every draw will be filmed and posted on so45online.co.uk. The prize winning and good cause cheque handovers will also all be publicized on here as well.
We are hoping to sell a large number of tickets to help this great local charity and give a welcome Christmas cash boost to a local resident.
Keep an eye on here and our Facebook page for updates on ticket sales and the draw venue.
4 Sponsors and a Makeover
Existing sponsors Chris Hall from The Langley Tavern, Andrea & Paul Waring from the Waring Partnership, Donna Ross, Lynne Kemmish & Gemma Young from Hythe & Waterside Estate & Letting Agents, me, Michael Osman & Donna Ross from the Oyster Business Group, Nigel Gemmell from Dawkins & Lodge, Marc Daniels from Four Plumbing & Heating and Richard Bland, European Tour Golfer are all still onboard.
Andrea said “we are delighted to support SO45 Online to help raise money for local charities. There is such strength in the Waterside community spirit and the new community lottery will only increase this spirit”
All of their support, financially and physically has been essential in getting this non-profit community project off the ground.
A big high five and a thank you to you all!
We are also delighted to announce the addition of 4 new sponsors.
Local builder and soon to be Eurosport Boxer Merv Langdale of Langdale Building & Development has come on board.
Jo said “Jo Hicks and her team of floral designers are proud to be part of the SO45 team. We enjoy serving the local area with our flowers and keen to be part of the wonderful fund raising and giving back to our community through SO45 Online”.
We are also very please to have Martin Smith & Kelven Penny from The Lovely Little Café on board. They run a great little café in the heart of Dibden Purlieu, offering lovely breakfasts and lunches.
On being involved they said:
“As proud owners of a forward thinking business based in the heart of SO45 in Dibden Purlieu, it was a pleasure to be able to join the team of exceptionally credible sponsors in 2014.
The idea of the local lottery is superb and has already become a talking point in our café, which will become a ticket vendor and hopefully further its reputation as a melting pot for all things SO45″.
Dave & Vanessa Cox from La Vista Italian Restaurant from the Marina have also agreed to get involved.
Finally local extremely talented graphic designer Becky Clayton from Blond Stationery who is responsible for the SO45 Online logo is also part of the team.
We are very proud to have such a strong, friendly team of local friends and business people who are so happy to contribute to this local community project for the benefit of their neighbours, you the local residents of SO45 and the Waterside.
All of the sponsors are local people who all signed up to my request to help raise money for local good causes, like the Waterside Cancer Support and The Handy Trust.
The content diet….
Our website has also had an overhaul, stripped back and rationalized, concentrating more on fundraising and removing a lot of the What’s On content we always used to have on their.
Since we launched in April 2012 there have been so many sources of local information new and existing that do such a fantastic job informing and engaging the local public of all ages, that there is no need for us to try and have a one stop site for all of the great local events and bands that are going on.
The like of Louise & Paula at The Herald, Helen Owers at the local parish council and Hythe Voice, David Morris (and his admin team) on the facebook group, Hythe & Waterside People, likewise Martin Bradbury (and his admin team) for the Waterside Community Group and Kevin Stiles of Hythe & Waterside Area, to name but a few.
So many sources of local information that there really wasn’t a need for the SO45 Online team who all work full time to try and deliver fresh content all the time for all things SO45/Waterside.
Hence the content diet, our waist has shrunk and we feel a lot better for it. Now concentrating on the fundraising for the local community and the exciting new lottery idea.
So all that’s left to say is people of SO45 GET INVOLVED, tell everyone you know locally and buy your tickets and help your local community and remember IT COULD BE YOU!
Thanks for your time
